The Legatum Center for Development and Entrepreneurship at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Mastercard Foundation have invited applications for Zambezi Prize. Startups that are solving Africa’s biggest financial inclusion challenges can apply for this competition. Participants’ companies need to address one of the challenges : Low and unpredictable income, Low financial literacy, Limited access to financial institutions, Proof of identity, Distrust in financial services, Difficulty in meeting unforseen shock, Limited financial Infrastructure, Limited comercial viability, Complex and costly partnership agreements. Ten winners will be selected on the basis of your company’s vision and purpose and level of Innovation.
Location : Massachusetts, USA. Deadline : June 1, 2018.
Eligibility : African presence in your company is necessary. The company should be active.
Prizes
- $200,000 Prizes will be given to the winners.
- Grand Prize : $100K cash.
- 1st runner up : $30K cash.
- 2nd runner-up : $30K cash.
- 7 Finalists : $5,000 cash each.
