The 2019 Data Journalism Awards (DJAs) is seeking entries. Staff journalists, freelancers, media companies and nonprofit organizations can apply. This year the awards is sponsored by Google News Lab, John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and Microsoft and run by Global Editors Network (GEN). There are 12 categories : Data visualization of the year, news data app of the year, investigation of the year, data journalism website of the year, best use of data in breaking news story, best individual portfolio, open data award, best data journalism team (large news room), best data journalism team (small newsroom), student and young data journalist of the year, innovation in data journalism and public choice. Entrants’ entries must have been published or broadcasted between March 26, 2018 and April 7, 2019. It should be in English language. If your entry is in other language, you must submit translation of the work.
Location : Paris, France. Deadline : April 17, 2019.
The competition is open for all regardless of nationality.
The winners will get a chance of paid trip to Athens, Greece. All can attend The Global Editors Network Summit and Data Journalism Awards 2019. It will be held in June, 2019.
